Cape Town, 27 April 2026 – At its best, sport can do far more than fill stadiums or produce champions. It creates connection, supports communities, and leaves a lasting impact long after the event itself. That sits at the heart of the Prescient Freedom Paddle, one of South Africa’s most unique ocean endurance events.
This year, more than 400 paddlers took on the iconic challenge around Robben Island, with the event once again bringing together athletes, sponsors, partners, and supporters around something bigger than race day itself.
Treble partnered with the event across logistics, branding, sponsorship integration, and operational delivery, supporting an event that blends elite sport with meaningful social and environmental impact.
The Prescient Freedom Paddle raises funds for Operation Smile South Africa, helping provide life-changing cleft lip and palate surgeries for children, while also supporting the SANParks Honorary Rangers and the work of the Table Mountain National Park Marine Unit.
Since partnering with Operation Smile in 2024, the event has helped fund more than 27 surgeries, giving children the opportunity to smile confidently, speak clearly, and live without the stigma often associated with cleft conditions.
At the same time, the event contributes to ocean conservation initiatives, including penguin colony protection, ocean clean-ups, ghost gear removal, and marine environmental education.

Operation Smile South Africa and the SANParks Honorary Rangers have become an integral part of the Prescient Freedom Paddle experience. From the Honorary Rangers handing out medals at the finish line to updates from Operation Smile on the direct impact of the funds raised, the event continues to strengthen the connection between sport, conservation, and community. This year’s prize-giving also included an address from race director and Operation Smile ambassador Richard Kohler, who announced his next expedition in support of the cause.
Samantha Boustred, Account Manager at Treble, said the event reflects the power of sport to bring people together around a shared purpose.
“Bringing people together gives me the greatest sense of reward. Being able to play a role in uniting the paddling community, partners, and sponsors around something bigger than the event itself has been incredibly special.”
Treble extends its thanks to Prescient Fund Services, Operation Smile South Africa, SANParks Honorary Rangers, participants, partners, volunteers, and the broader paddling community for contributing to another successful and meaningful event.
