Treble bids farewell to Springbok Supporters’ Club

On behalf of the Springbok Supporters’ Club, the Treble Group would like to thank every single member for their valued support over the past 18 unforgettable years.

Launching soon will be a brand-new Springbok Supporters’ Club, which is going “in-house” and will be managed directly by SA Rugby. This brings a whole new exciting experience for Springbok supporters as the Boks look to defend their Rugby World Cup title in 2023.

Since the Springbok Supporters’ Club was launched in 2002, Treble has travelled a long road that has seen the Boks claim two Rugby World Cups and a lifetime of memories. We are honoured to have been part of that incredible success for nearly two decades.

Rugby in South Africa is more than just a sport, it transcends all walks of life, and you, the supporter, are the heartbeat that makes the Springboks the unique nation-building team they are.

Treble has been at the forefront of the popular Boktown experience since 2003, while also managing two Rugby World Cup trophy tours, and we are proud to have been associated with the hope and joy the Springboks bring to millions of South Africans.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought many challenges, but with the support of all South Africans our country can overcome such obstacles. The Treble team wishes SA Rugby all the very best on their new journey as we look forward to the Springboks taking on the best in the world, backed by the best supporters in the world.

Treble unveils MTN as naming rights sponsor of Boktown

Newlands, Cape Town – Treble is proud to announce MTN as the official naming rights sponsor of the Springbok Supporters’ Club’s Boktown events. With MTN being the headline sponsor of the Springboks rugby team, having naming rights to Boktown will ensure that they bring the game of rugby even closer to Springbok supporters and their customers alike.

Treble has been managing SSC, the official supporter’s club for the Springboks, since 2001 and has been activating Boktown events all over South Africa since 2004. The official supporters’ village creates a unique experience that goes beyond the 80 minutes on the field and offers passionate Springbok fans the best alternative to being at the game. Fans watch the test live on the big screen but the entertainment starts long before the first whistle and continues long after the final whistle with live entertainment, prizes and giveaways, best dressed fan competition and activities for the kids. Fans also get a chance to formally engage with select South African Rugby Legends through a structured ‘Q&A’ session before and after the game

For MTN, rugby is seen as an influential factor in developing national unity and creating positive change. This is further reinforced through unique competitions like ‘The Call Up’ where MTN is searching for the official Bozza, who will be the “social eyes and ears” for South Africa. Campaigns of this nature are just some ways in which MTN hopes to bring the supporters closer to the Springboks. Having naming rights to Boktown further solidifies MTN’s place as a fervent supporter of South African sport and rugby in particular.

Treble and Springbok Supporters’ Club unleash the magic of Boktown

Newlands, Cape Town – This past weekend saw the start of the Castle Lager Rugby Championship, with the Springboks kicking-off at Nelson Mandela Stadium on Port Elizabeth. Our Boks continued their winning streak with another outstanding win. Treble Group and the Official Springbok Supporters’ Club also made sure that Springbok faithful all over South Africa could enjoy the action at Boktown.

Springbok supporters who are not able to attend the games arrive in numbers to support the Boks at key venues across the country. Treble’s activation of Boktown delivers a unique experience that offers supporters the best alternative to being at the tests with live entertainment, affordable food and beverage and fun competitions, activities and giveaways, in and around a live screening of the game. We have also partnered with the SA Rugby Legends Association and MyPlayers to invite seasoned rugby legends and current rugby stars to meet and greet supporters at Boktown. And, of course, we invite Bokkie – the official Springbok mascot – to entertain the kids (and parents!).

As part of their sponsorship of Boktown, PostNet giveaway two brand-new Asics Springboks jerseys to two of the Best Dressed patrons at each and every Boktown. Thank you to PostNet for the awesome prizes.

We were delighted to be joined by none other than Springboks Captain, Warren Whiteley at Boktown Montecasino, who gave great insight into the action during his Q&A sessions. Thank you to MyPlayers for inviting Warren, and for inviting Howard Mnisi (Xerox Golden Lions), Roelof Smith and Adriaan Strauss (Vodacom Blue Bulls), Tersius Marmaan, Vuyo Mboto and Warren Williams (Griffons), Nizaam Caar (DHL Western Province) and former Blitzboks star, Zain Davids. We are also thankful to the SA Rugby Legends Association for allowing us to host Boktown favourite, Gerrie Germishuys, and for welcoming Krynauw Otto and Marius Joubert.

We hailed the return of Boktown to Cape Town this weekend, activating at the Slug & Lettuce River Club, which hosted over 300 supporters. We were thrilled to partner with Heart FM who provided the live entertainment. The event was MC’s by Heart FM sports presenter, Tapfuma, and the DJ’ing was taken care of my popular radio personality, Suga. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Heart FM and are extremely grateful to River Club and Slug & Lettuce for the awesome venue.

Treble would like to thank Tsogo Sun and Slug & Lettuce River Club for the awesome venues. We are also honoured to work with industry giants like Mango Airlines and PostNet. These partners have made a fantastic contribution to the ongoing success of Boktown. We are all looking forward to welcoming supporters to Boktown on September 30, when the Springboks face Australia on home soil.

Treble successfully activates Springbok Supporters Club alongside stunning SA win

Newlands, Cape Town – The Castle Lager Incoming Test Series off last Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Loftus Versveld Rugby Stadium, where Springboks overthrew the French in an outstanding performance. It was a combination of Green, Gold and Yellow this past weekend as the South African Rugby Union welcomed MTN as the official new title sponsor to the Springboks.

Treble spearheaded the return on the Boktown with our partners Tsogo Sun, PostNet and Mango. With these industry leaders, we successfully activated Boktown at six venues across the country, delivering professional, carefully-crafted branding and staging solutions. The Supporters’ villages at Montecasino, Suncoast Casino, Goldfields Casino and Silverstar Casino offered Springbok fans various interactive activities for the young and grown-up alike, delectable food and beverage, as well as great competitions with awesome prizes. This included the PostNet Best Dressed competition that awarded fans who went to great lengths to wear Green and Gold!

We recently begun a collaboration with MyPlayers – the Rugby Players’ Organisation – to bring current rugby stars to join the magic at Boktown. Supporters were graced with the presence of contemporary players that included:

We look forward to continuing this great collaboration at future Boktowns. In addition to todays’ stars, Boktown was again joined by seasoned Legends from the SA Rugby Legends Association. It was an honour to host Gerrie Germishuys, Krynauw Otto, Tonderai Chavhanga and Eric Herbert. Supporters had an opportunity to meet and greet the legends and talk all things rugby!

Closer to the Springbok action, we activated the official Flag Bearers with Spur Sports, a division of Spur Steak Ranches. This was a bundle of success and smiles as we took the kids to Illinois Spur, Pretoria before they took to the Loftus Versveld field to welcome the Springboks to the start of the series. We are always delighted to work with the Spur Kids and be part of the official starting ceremonies.

Treble will continue to activate this coming weekend on June 17, when the Springbok take on France at Growthpoint Kings Park, Durban.

Treble and Springbok Supporters’ Club ready to activate Boktown for SA vs France

Newlands, Cape Town – Treble Group and the official Springbok Supporter’s Club (SSC) are once again partnering with Tsogo Sun to host Boktown at key venues across the country. Boktown will be kicking-off the start of the 2017 Castle Lager Incoming Test Series in June, where the Springboks are facing France. The Springboks will be facing their French opponents in Pretoria, Durban and Johannesburg, on 10 June, 17 June and 24 June respectively.

Springbok supporters who cannot attend the games can still catch all the action and gees at Boktown. Treble’s activation of Boktown creates a unique experience that goes beyond the 80 minutes on the field. The supporters’ village offers passionate Springbok fans the best alternative to being at the game. Fans gather to cheer on the Springboks and watch the game live on big screen, while enjoying a day filled with family fun. This includes live entertainment, DJ’s, interactive activities for the kids, cold drink specials, bars, scrumptious food, great competitions with amazing prizes and sponsor giveaways, not to mention guest appearances from South African Rugby Legends and Bokkie, the official Springbok mascot.

Treble manages Flag Bearers competition with Spur and Springbok Supporters’ Club

Newlands, Cape Town – Treble Group, Spur Steak Ranches and the official Springbok Supporter’s Club (SSC) have begun preparations for the start of the 2017 Castle Lager Incoming Test Series in June, when South Africa are set to host France for the first time since 2010. Treble, Spur and SSC are excited to announce the return of the Spur Flag Bearers Competition.

The Springboks are set to face France on the following dates:

  • June 10 – Loftus Versfeld, Pretoria
  • June 17 – Growthpoint Kings Park, Durban
  • June 24 – Emirates Airline Park, Johannesburg

Spur – South Africa’s favourite family restaurant franchise – are inviting children from all over the country to join them in kicking-off each test match by carrying South African flags onto the field and hoisting them high during the National Anthem. 10 lucky children will have the opportunity to be part of this prestigious ceremony.

Parents and guardians can enter their children on the official Spur website: https://www.spur.co.za/flagbearer/. The competition will run from April 14 to May 12, 2017.

The lucky winners will win four tickets to the watch the test matches live at the various venues. They will also be treated to a free Spur meal on the morning of the test matches.

Springbok Supporters Club brings ‘Gees’ to Cape Town Sevens

Cape Town Sevens Tournament held at Cape Town Stadium this past weekend was as much about the fans as it was the rugby.

Springbok Supporter’s Club dispatched a team of ‘gees distributors’, in the form of our Communications Team plus promoters, who took on the task of immersing into the masses at Cape Town Stadium, capturing the crowd in full supporter mode and handing out Springbok trinkets to fans with the best costumes and best supporter’s spirit.

The response on the ground was enthusiastic and the latter echoed through the social media, with all three SSC platforms coming alive during the tournament not only engaging fans attending the Sevens, but also including those who could not be there, giving them the feeling that they were right there on the stands with the other fans.

Springbok Supporter’s Club managed to capture some fantastic shots of rugby lovers in all their glory, dressed in outlandish costumes and injecting spirit into the event.

Boktown, owned by the Springbok Supporters’ Club and managed by Treble Group, creates a unique experience for Springbok supporters, who cannot make it to the actual Springboks Test Matches. The official supporters’ fan village is brought to life by live acts, great sponsor giveaways and fan meet and greets with SA Rugby legends, current injured Springbok players and Bokkie; the official Springboks Mascot.

The Springbok Supporters’ Club hosted Boktown events around South Africa during the Castle Lager Rugby Championships, at the following venues:

Treble activates a successful Springbok Supporters’ Club Golf Day

The Treble Group activated the annual Springbok Supporters’ Club Golf Day on Wednesday, 15 June 2016 at the prestigious Randpark Golf Club in Johannesburg.

The event allowed the SA Rugby Legends; James Small, Hugh Bladen, Breyton Paulse, Gerrie Germishuys and Owen Nkumane to name a few, and valued Springbok Supporters’ Club and SA Rugby sponsors to enjoy a well-deserved break away and a good round of golf.

The Springbok Supporters’ Club Golf Day was a swinging success! Thank you to all our golfers for your invaluable contribution and for your enthusiasm throughout.
