DHL is the global leader in the logistics industry and the most recognised in Africa.
The Brief
No on knows Africa like DHL. To create awareness about the game of rugby in Africa and to highlight Africa’s participation in the 2015 World Cup, DHL tasked Treble to take the game of rugby to as many African countries as possible.
Our Activation
We conceptualised, created and completed an 11 month DHL Africa as One overland adventure travelling 70 000 km through 45 African countries. This included hosting rugby clinics for children to teach them the basics of the game and to grow the popularity of the sport, entertaining DHL customers, conducting eye clinics and giving away reading glasses. Schools were supplied with stationery and supplies, rugby balls and other items of need in every country.
The Results
The DHL team travelled 70 854 km across 45 African countries. 4 206 eye tests were conducted and 3 828 pairs of glasses were donated. The DHL team crossed 97 border posts to host rugby clinics for 3 545 children. In addition, 20 000 rugby balls were given to rugby unions across the continent. In this time there were 8 199 ball passes, 4 463 DHL customers were entertained and 500 000 stationary units were distributed.
