Treble Group Shaping up for 2022

The year 2022 is shaping up to be a positive one as the sporting landscape in South Africa is slowly beginning to return to normal after the live sporting drought that occured in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Treble Group has been encouraged to see a return of fans to live sporting events, albeit a limited amount of 2000 spectators allowed – subject to government gazetted regulations.

This will hopefully be further extended to accommodate more fans at stadiums as South Africa eases towards more relaxed restrictions. The Treble team is looking forward to several events over the coming year, and the first quarter brings with it the DHL Lifesaving South Africa National Champs in Gqeberha, and the 2022 Freedom Paddle on Freedom Day (27 April).

The eight-week countdown to the DHL Lifesaving South Africa National Championships is underway and our team has been working hard to deliver another world-class event in late-March, while the month of April brings with it the increasingly popular Freedom Paddle. Now in its fifth year the Treble-owned property, in which sponsorship, event management, marketing and operations of the Surfski event are fully managed by our award-winning team, sees competitors paddling 27kms around the iconic Robben Island – a symbol of South Africa’s triumph of democracy and freedom.

Entries will be opening soon, and you can keep up-to-date by visiting the Freedom Paddle website. Click here for more details
