Treble geared up to manage DHL Club Newlands Sleepover

Club Newlands – the official supporters club of the DHL Stormers and DHL WP – will be ushering in the 2017 rugby season with a hive of pre-season activities to lift the spirits of the whole family!  We start the year off with a bang in the form of the annual Club Newlands DHL Stormers Sleepover on Friday 3rd February 2017 at DHL Newlands Rugby Stadium.

Parents along with their kids are given the opportunity to pitch a tent on the sacred grounds of DHL Newlands Rugby Stadium a once in a lifetime experience which rugby fans young and old will remember for years to come.

Some of the DHL Stormers team will join the children and assist in a short coaching clinic, followed by a signing and photo session with the boys. Parent and child couples will also be privy to a talk around nutrition and fitness, a few exciting spot prizes on the day and a grand prize for the pair that shows the most physicality and enthusiasm during activities. The adults also have an opportunity to don DHL plane and delivery van suits and participate in the DHL run, much to the delight of their sprogs cheering them on from the side lines. This is then crowned with a braai and a hub of activities throughout the evening for the kids to enjoy before lights out.

‘The DHL Club Newlands Sleepover not only promotes camaraderie between parent and child, but also encourages children to develop and pursue fitness within the realm of local rugby in a fun, interactive space.’ – Selwyn Lewis, Director, Club Newlands.

Club Newlands aims to encourage bonding between parents and their children while participating in exercises which promote a healthy lifestyle with the aid of the Western Province Rugby Football Union (WPRFU) coaching and development department. We also believe that by investing in family oriented events, such as the Sleepover, Club Newlands actively conveys the message that rugby is a way of life for the whole family.
